Some of our KSP team has been able to help provide and serve meals for the men from Camp Hope when they travel to Conroe. We wanted to share this Thank You note we received after we provided their meal and also a couple of pictures from last week! Every little bit makes a difference!
They are so appreciative of the food – especially that they are getting some home cooked food. We constantly hear things like thank you, thank you so much, appreciate y’all, God bless and the list goes on. It is a blessing to be able to feed and serve them. And very eye opening too when you realize the effects PTSD has on these men after their time serving our country. Camp Hope is a blessing to these men – literally life saving in many cases. And that Camp Hope has to be so very wise with the funds they have available to them so this program can continue. When we provide a meal, they can divert funds elsewhere to help with other costs.
Several years ago when we toured their facility, we learned that they are the recipients of meat from animals at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Well…with COVID and no rodeo, that means no meat for them this year – just one more way this pandemic is affecting people. Mattress Mack has been promoting Camp Hope and trying to help increase the support they receive so they can continue their mission of serving these men who have served our country.
Ways to participate range from cooking/providing some of the food for the meal, paper goods, desserts, water bottles, funds to help purchase items, and of course serving the meal on Wednesday. If you ever want to participate in any way, we would love to plug you in!
